Emphasizing on Make in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that this is the need for India of the 21st century.
Important announcement made in the budget
According to the news, the Prime Minister said that the announcements made for self-reliant India and ‘Make in India’ in the budget are important for the industry and the Indian economy. Modi said that the ‘Make in India’ campaign is the need of the 21st century India and it gives us an opportunity to show our potential. He said that we should work with all our might to create a strong manufacturing base.
India should not be just a market
Referring to the important provisions made in the budget for ‘Self-reliant India’ and ‘Make in India’, he said that it is not acceptable that a country like India should remain only a market. The industry has to adhere to global standards and become competitive. Referring to the disruption in the supply chain during the pandemic and other uncertainties, the Prime Minister said that the benefits associated with a young and talented population, democratic system, natural resources encourage us to move towards ‘Make in India’.

Talk about Vocal for Local and Make in India
The Prime Minister said that industries should talk about ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Make in India’ in the advertisements of their products. India has a large number of young talent and skilled human resources and these can be harnessed to boost manufacturing. He said reforms have been made in the SEZ Act to encourage exports and boost manufacturing.
