As many as 82,628 companies and limited liability partnership (LLP) firms were incorporated on the latest version of the MCA21 portal for various corporate filings in the first four months of this fiscal year, a record for this period, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) said on Wednesday.

Similarly, as many as 1.96 million forms were filed on the MCA21 (Version 3, or V3) portal between April and July, it said in a series of tweets.

The ministry’s statement comes amid furore over technical glitches involving the V3 portal since its rollout for companies on January 23.

first reported, on June 16, about the record incorporation of companies and LLPs this fiscal despite the technical issues.

The ministry also said professional bodies like the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India have been authorised to send details of their members who are seeking the merger or de-activation of their multiple user IDs.

The MCA has already allowed chartered accountants, company secretaries and cost accountants to merge their multiple user IDs that they may have created earlier to be able to use the V3 portal now, as the latest version doesn’t entertain multiple user IDs for the same person.
