Vodafone Idea aims to settle Rs 2,400 crore in government dues by September 2023. They’ve already paid around Rs 450 crore in outstanding fees for the March 2022-23 quarter. Additionally, a promoter has pledged to inject Rs 2,000 crore if needed for government payments. The Department of Telecommunication (DoT) may postpone a 5G spectrum installment by a month, and Vodafone Idea offered to cover the interest. They’ve requested 30 days for spectrum payment. The total pending dues, including interest, stand at Rs 2,400 crore. Despite a Q2 2023 loss of Rs 7,840 crore, the average revenue per user (ARPU) increased 3% to Rs 139. Vodafone Idea’s 4G customer base slightly grew while losing 4.5 million mobile subscribers, leaving a user base of 221.4 million as of June 2023. On Wednesday, their shares closed at Rs. 7.85, up 1.95% at NSE.
