The stock market broke badly as soon as the opening of the first trading day of the week amid weak global cues due to the intensified war between Russia and Ukraine. The 30-share Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened with a loss of 1100 points and with the opening, it fell by 1404 points or 2.58 per cent, due to which it slipped to the level of 52,930. While the Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange slipped 380 points to start trading at 15,866 levels. It is worth noting that after an hour of trading, the fall in the Sensex increased further and it fell 1705 points to 52,621. Banking stocks saw a strong fall on Monday. 29 out of 30 of the Sensex are trading on the decline. On the other hand, Nifty has broken badly and has come down by 459 points.
