SEBI has amended the rules for offering silver Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). This will increase the investment options through the stock markets.

At present, Indian mutual funds are allowed to offer gold-focused ETFs. According to a notification issued by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on Tuesday, changes have been made in the rules for the introduction of silver ETFs. SEBI said silver ETF scheme means a mutual fund scheme which invests primarily in silver or silver related instruments.
