NSE Scam: Chitra Ramkrishna Did Not Informed NSE About This Most Important Work

Chitra Ramkrishna, the former CEO of NSE, had given her advisor Anand Subramanian equal powers to an MD to have access to confidential information. Chitra did not informed the NRC and the board about this decision. This information came to light in the ongoing CBI investigation regarding the co-location scam in the National Stock Exchange.

During the hearing of this case in the special CBI court in Delhi, the investigating agency said that on April 1, 2015, Chitra had misused her powers to make Anand an advisor to the Group Operating Officer and MD.

Responding to Subramanian’s bail plea, the CBI said, Anand and Chitra were already known. Anand’s wife Sunita Subramanian had been the head of NSE’s regional office in Chennai in 2011 before Anand was made an advisor to NSE MD in 2015.

Subramanian’s advocate Arshdeep Singh Khurana said, “Anand has nothing to do with it. He has been wrongly implicated in this case. Even in the FIR registered in this case, there is no allegation against Anand.”
