Former Infosys CFO TV Mohandas Pai has commended the Income Tax Department for its prompt and efficient service in processing tax refunds. In a tweet, Pai expressed his satisfaction with the system, noting that he filed his return just the day before and had already received his refund.

In response to his appreciation, the Income Tax Department tweeted back, “Thank you for your valuable feedback.
Pai’s comments come at a time when the central government is enhancing taxpayer services as part of broader reforms aimed at streamlining the tax-filing process. The Finance Ministry, led by Nirmala Sitharaman, has taken steps to simplify tax return procedures and speed up processing, which has garnered positive feedback from many taxpayers.
The quick refund turnaround has been shared by numerous taxpayers who have voiced satisfaction with the timely and efficient refunds.
One user noted, “A few years ago, I had to pay capital gains tax on my sale proceeds. Paying tax was a breeze, and I never received any trivial questions from the authorities.”
However, several users in the comments mentioned that they are still waiting for their refunds. In response to these inquiries, the Income Tax Department promptly requested details to assist in resolving the issues.
“Please write to us with your details (including PAN & your mobile number) via email at orm@cpc.incometax.gov.in so our team can get in touch with you,” they advised dissatisfied users.
Some users expressed skepticism, stating, “True. India’s income tax portal has evolved to be the best in class. However, I guess you were lucky because of your status.”
