61.62 crore tax evasion caught in Jodhpur, 2 arrested
Directorate General and GST Intelligence (DGGI) on Monday conducted simultaneous raids at 13 locations of Nazar, DNG and OMG Gutkha manufacturer traders Abhishek Gehlot and Naresh Chandra Jajar in Jodhpur. After this, both the traders have been arrested in tax evasion of Rs 61.62 crore.
Traders had spent large quantities of gutkha in the market without bills. Both were produced by Intelligence Officer Ajay Kumar through Special Public Prosecutor RN Yadav before Civil Judge Arvind Kumar Yadav, from where both were sent to jail. When DGGI raided M/s Satyam Industries, a hideout in Desuri, the employees there burnt lakhs of gutkha pouches behind the premises. Jajra had patented the DNG brand and used to take 50 thousand months royalty from other traders.
