Correct and updated mobile number in EPF helps in services like nomination and COVID-19 claim. At the same time, other important work will also be done in less time. Actually for this OTP is sent to the registered mobile number. Similarly, it will be easy to contact EPFO with a correct email ID.
Follow these steps
You can update mobile number and email id in the EPF account by following the steps given below.
Step 1: Login to the member service site by entering your UAN and password.
Step 2: In the ‘Manage Section’ select the ‘Contact Details’ option.
Step 3: When you select the ‘Contact Details’ option, the latest mobile number and email address will be displayed on your screen.
Step 4: Select the option you want to change, such as your mobile number or email. After this you will be asked to provide your new mobile phone number and email.
Step 5: After entering the updated information, click on ‘Get Authorization PIN’. A 4-digit PIN number will be sent to your new mobile number and/ or email.
Step 6: After entering the PIN, click on ‘Save Changes’.
Your EPF account will be updated after these changes.
Email, Mobile Number can be registered
If you are accessing EPF account for the first time through the member service portal, you can register your email and mobile number in this way.
Step 1: Go to the Member Services Portal and click on ‘Activate UAN’.
Step 2: Enter your UAN, Aadhaar number and date of birth on the screen. These details should be the same as in the EPFO records. Enter the Aadhaar linked phone number as per the UIDAI record.
Step 3: After that enter the captcha code. You will have to give your consent to provide the details for UAN activation. These details will be the same as available with Aadhaar.
Step 4: Then select ‘Get Authorization PIN’. Now 4 digit OTP will come on your mobile.
After the UAN is activated, you will be given a password on the mobile number.
