After the announcement from the central government, central employees and pensioners will start getting Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) and Dearness Relief (DR Hike) at the rate of 34 percent. According to the year 2001 on the basis of AICPI Index, the Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers, there has been a decrease of one point in the index for December 2021. With this the index has reached 361 points.

12 Month Index Average 351.33

The 12-month index average for Dearness Allowance stands at 351.33. On this average index, 34.04 percent dearness allowance is made. Since dearness allowance is given in round figure only, therefore, from January 2022, a total of 34 percent dearness allowance is set to be given to central employees and pensioners.

2 months arrears of dearness allowance will also be available

If the central government announces an increase in DA on March 16, then the employees will also get arrears of two months. At present, the basic salary of central employees ranges from Rs 18,000 to Rs 56,900. On increasing dearness allowance by three percent, it will increase to 34 percent. If we calculate DA on the basic salary of Rs 56,900, then it becomes Rs 19,346 per month.

38,692 will get more salary

The employees have been paid DA of Rs 17,639 per month at the rate of 31 per cent so far. That is, the DA arrears of central government employees is Rs 1,707. Adding this on an annual basis, it becomes Rs 20,484. 2 months arrears to be received in March. Adding this, the arrears of DA of the employees comes to Rs 38,692. That means Rs 38,692 will increase in his account.

DA may be announced in cabinet meeting

Central employees are currently getting dearness allowance at the rate of 31 percent. From January 2022, 3% dearness allowance will be added to it. That is, they will get 34 percent of the total dearness allowance. If you look at the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, you will find that dearness allowance is paid on the basic salary. Sources are telling that it can be announced in the cabinet of 16 March.

More than one crore people will benefit

The model code of conduct is currently in force due to elections in five states. That is why the government is not able to make any announcement on this. This decision of the government will benefit more than 50 lakh central employees and 65 lakh pensioners. After this, the next dearness allowance will be calculated in July 2022.
