CBI Arrests J&K Police Sub-Inspector in Bribery Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested a Jammu and Kashmir Police Sub-Inspector in a bribery case for demanding Rs. 20,000 from a complainant to avoid lodging an FIR related to a marital dispute. The officer was caught accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000 during a CBI sting operation.

CBI Arrests J&K Police Sub-Inspector in Bribery Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Sub-Inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Police Station Janipur, Jammu, in a bribery case.

The CBI registered the instant case on 16.08.2026 against the accused based on a complaint, wherein it was alleged that the accused Sub-Inspector demanded a bribe of Rs.20,000 from the complainant for not lodging FIR against him over a marital dispute. After negotiation, the accused agreed to accept a bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant.

The CBI laid a trap on 16.08.2026 and caught the accused red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant.

Investigation in the case is continuing.
