CBI arrested CGST Superintendent & Inspector Giridih of bribery of Rs 90,000.
A case has been registered by CBI on 20.05.2026 on a complaint against Shri Bireswar Kundu, CGST Superintendent and Shri Jitendranath Prasad, CGST Inspector, both posted at Central GST Giridih in a bribery case. In the complaint it was alleged that accused Public servant CGST Superintendent and Inspector demanded a bribe of Rs. 90,000/- from complainant to settle his pending Input Tax Credit (ITC) mismatch pending and threatened to block his GST Number.
CBI in the trap caught red-handed the accused Superintendent and the accused Inspector while they accepted a part payment of bribe of Rs. 50,000/-.
Searches were conducted at office and residential premises of public servant accused.
Both the accused public servants would be produced before the Court of Competent Magistrate in Dhanbad.
Investigation is continuing.
