CBI Arrests Three Officials of Regional Pay & Accounts Office, CISF, Ranchi in Bribery Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested One Sr. Accounts Officer and Two Assistant Accounts Officers of the Regional Pay & Accounts Office, CISF, MHA, Ranchi, in a bribery case.
The CBI registered the instant case on 26.08.2026 against the three accused public servants. It was alleged that the accused officials demanded bribe from the complainant Head Constable, CISF, NTPC, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh for processing and payment of various bills, including Travelling Allowance (TA) bills, Children Education Allowance bills, etc., pertaining to different officials of his unit.
The CBI laid a trap today, i.e. 27.08.2026 at the Regional Pay & Accounts Office, CISF, MHA, Ranchi. During the trap proceedings, all three accused officials, one Sr. Accounts Officer and two Assistant Accounts Officers were caught red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe amount of Rs. 48,400 from the complainant. The bribe amount of Rs. 48,400 was recovered during the trap proceedings.
Searches at five places related to the accused persons are being conducted in Ranchi and Dhanbad. During the searches, incriminating documents and cash amounts have been seized.
The accused persons have been arrested and will be produced before the competent court tomorrow, i.e., 28.08.2026.
Further investigation in the case is under progress.
