FSSAI EXTENDS COMPLIANCE DEADLINE FOR FBOS FOR FRUIT JUICE LABELING
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has extended the deadline for Food Business Operators (FBOs) to comply with the updated regulations regarding the marketing and sale of reconstituted fruit juices as “100% fruit juices.” This is a positive development for FBOs, as it gives them more time to make the necessary changes to their packaging and labeling.
Revised Deadline for Packaging Materials
In response to feedback from industry stakeholders, the deadline for utilizing existing pre-printed packaging materials has been extended to December 31st, 2024. This extension aims to give FBOs adequate time to adjust to the new labeling requirements without disrupting their operations or causing financial strain due to the premature disposal of packaging materials.
