Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at Sambalpur in Odisha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday laid the foundation stone for the permanent campus of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at Sambalpur in Odisha through video conferencing. Addressing the event, the Prime Minister said that from 13 IIMs in 2014, today the country has 20 IIMs.

He said that such a large talent pool can help strengthen Atmanirbhar Bharat. He added that this vast talent pool within and outside the country can also help realise the goal of globalising brand India. He said management experts can also play a vital role in making the local go global in the overall framework of an Atmanirbhar Bharat.IM Sambalpur is the first IIM to implement the idea of the flipped classroom where the basic concepts are learnt in digital mode and experiential learning takes place in the class, through live projects from the industry.

The Institute has also outscored all other IIMs in terms of the highest gender diversity with 49  per cent girl students in MBA 2019-21 batch and 43 per cent in MBA 2020-22 batch.
