The government extended the deadline for Fastag to February 15, 2021

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has extended the deadline for mandatory use of Fastag to collect toll charges on highways. The deadline for collecting toll charges from Fastag has been extended from February 1, 2021 to February 15, 2021.

After February 15, the government will take cash payment on all toll plazas in one lane only, that too double the toll amount. Also only FASTag will be valid in every lane.

Fastag is a radio frequency identification tag affixed to the vehicle’s windscreen. This tag, which is rechargeable and linked to a prepaid account / e-wallet, automatically deducts the fee at toll booths. This does not require stopping at the toll plaza to make the payment.
