Assam: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari lays foundation stone of 20 National Highway projects

The Union Minister was speaking after laying the foundation stone of 20 National Highway projects in Assam and dedication of 7 completed projects to the nation. These projects have a length of nearly 439 kilometers and cost approximately Rs 2,366 crore. The Minister informed that road and infrastructure works worth Rs 85,000 crore will be taken up in the State. Minister announced that the 25.2 KM long section of Silchar-Sautrasthra Mahasadak between Balachhera and Harangajao will be completed by March 2022. He also announced that two new bridges and a multi model logistic park (MMLP) will be constructed on Barak river.Mr. Gadkari also unveiled a 13 feet bronze statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at zero point of Mahasadak. It is the first statue of Vajpai in the North East.
