CBI Arrests ABIL Group’s Chairman Avinash Bhosale

The CBI on Thursday arrested Avinash Bhosale, chairman of Pune-based real estate giant ABIL Group, in its probe into the Yes Bank and DFFL scams. The CBI is probing the alleged corruption case of Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor and DHFL’s Kapil Wadhawan.

The CBI had raided Bhosale’s residence and office last month and he was also questioned by the ED last year. Earlier, the CBI had arrested builder Sanjay Chhabria in the DHFL-Yes Bank case.

Meanwhile, on Friday, promoter of ABIL group companies Avinash Bhosle was produced in a special CBI court in Mumbai. Presenting in the court, CBI had sought 10-day judicial custody of Bhosale. However, the special CBI court could not take any decision. Now the next hearing of the case will take place on Monday. Also, the court has directed the CBI to keep Bhosale in the CBI guest house instead of the CBI office.

The CBI suspects that the amount of corruption was diverted in various real estate companies of Maharashtra. On April 30, the CBI had raided the places of many well-known builders of the state. This also includes the hideouts of ABIL and Bhosale. The CBI has now arrested Bhosale in a 2020 case against Kapoor and Wadhawans.
