Airtel Payments Bank has been given schedule bank status by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). With this, Airtel Payments Bank can now pitch for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and primary auctions issued by the government.
Schedule Bank Status From RBI
Airtel Payments Bank said in a statement that RBI has given it the status of a scheduled bank. With which it can participate in the welfare scheme run by the government and can also do business with both the center and the state.
Airtel Payments Bank said that it is one of the fastest growing digital banks in the country with its 115 million user base. It provides digital banking solutions through its Airtel Thanks App and retail network of over 5,00,000 banking points. It had made profit in the period of September, 2021.
