Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the list of holidays for banks in various cities. According to which banks will remain closed in different states of the country for 16 days in January. These days customers will not be able to withdraw or deposit money in their respective bank branches. However, all the services available online will continue as before, people will not see any problem in it.
Know when the banks will be closed in January
-1 Jan 2022: (Banks to remain closed in Aizawl, Chennai, Gangtok and Shillong)
-3 Jan 2022: (Banks in Aizawl and Gangtok to remain closed)
-4 Jan 2022: (Banks to remain closed in Gangtok on the occasion of Losung)
-11 Jan 2022: (Banks will be closed on the occasion of Missionary Day in Aizawl)
-12 Jan 2022: (Banks will be closed in Kolkata on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s birthday)
-14 Jan 2022: (Makar Sankranti/ Pongal in Ahmedabad and Chennai) But banks will remain closed)
-15 Jan 2022: (Banks will remain closed on Uttarayan Punyakaal Makar Sankranti Festival/ Maghe Sankranti/ Sankranti/ Pongal/ Thiruvalluvar Day in Bengaluru, Chennai, Gangtok and Hyderabad)
-18 Jan 2022: (Thai in Chennai Banks will remain closed on the occasion of Pusam)
-26 Jan 2022: (Banks will remain closed in all cities except Agartala, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Guwahati, Imphal, Jaipur, Kochi and Srinagar on the occasion of Republic Day)
Apart from these holidays, banks will remain closed on January 8, 2022 and January 22, 2022 as well, being the second and fourth Saturdays. Banks will also remain closed on January 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 due to Sundays. In this way, the work of banks will be affected for a total of 16 days next month.
