US President Donald Trump is actively pursuing policies aimed at immigration control, often focusing on sending back immigrants who have entered the country illegally. This initiative is part of a broader campaign designed to address concerns about immigration and border security.

In a contrasting move, Trump has proposed a controversial plan aimed at wealthy individuals that would allow them to obtain American citizenship for a hefty fee. Under this proposal, individuals could achieve their American dream by investing $5 million (approximately Rs 43 crores) in the country. This scheme raises significant concerns, particularly for Indian professionals who have been waiting for extended periods to secure a green card.

If Trump’s proposal comes to fruition, it could further complicate the already challenging situation for these professionals. The implementation is expected by April, with an initial issuance of around 10 million ‘gold card’ visas. According to Trump, this initiative will attract affluent individuals who will not only contribute economically but also create job opportunities for many Americans.

Trump emphasizes that by purchasing this card, wealthy immigrants will bring prosperity, along with substantial tax contributions, thereby fostering economic growth in the United States.
