On Monday (4th April 2022), the first trading day of the week, the stock market opened on the green mark with an increase. The 30-share Sensex index of the Bombay Stock Exchange once again rose to 60 thousand with a gain of 839 points. The index opened at the level of 60,116. On the other hand, the Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange jumped 224 points and started trading at the level of 17,895.
With the commencement of trading, both the indices also gained momentum and the Sensex jumped up to 1300 points. At present, the Sensex is trading at the level of 60,545, gaining 1268 points or 2.14 per cent. On the other hand, Nifty has made a long jump and has crossed 18000. The Nifty index is trading at the level of 18,013 with a gain of 343 points. It is worth noting that earlier on Friday, the first day of the new financial year, the stock market closed with a sharp rise. The BSE Sensex jumped 708 points to close at 59,277, while the NSE Nifty index gained 205 points to close at 17,670.
