Indian benchmark indices ended marginally lower. This means that their 5-day rally took a breather amid volatility. Sensex lost 12 points to close at 61223. Nifty shed 2 points to end at 18255 points.
Nifty Realty was the top gaining sector. Nifty IT and Consumer durables were also witnessed buying. Nifty Pharma and Health Care stocks along with FMCG were the losing sectors.
Tata Consumer topped with 4.12% gains on the top gainer’s list, followed by TCS, IOC, and Infosys. Good performance by TCS and Infosys helped the sector to end in green.
On the other hand, Asian Paints was the top loser followed by Axis Bank and HUL with more than 2% fall.
HCL Technologies is to post its Q3 results today. Banking giant HDFC Bank will post its results tomorrow.
