Mahindra and Mahindra reported a 20% year-over-year (YoY) increase in passenger vehicle sales for the previous month, totaling 41,267 units, compared to 34,508 units in September 2022.
Similarly, their sales of utility vehicles also saw a YoY growth of 20%, reaching 41,267 units compared to 34,262 units in the same period last year.
Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), India’s largest carmaker, achieved a 3.9% YoY rise in total sales for September 2023, with 1,81,343 units sold, up from 1,76,306 units in the same month in 2022. Domestic sales increased by 2.5% to 1,58,832 units, and vehicle exports reached 22,511 units, compared to 21,403 units in September 2022. MSI also achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 1 million units in half-yearly sales during April-September 2023.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor achieved its highest-ever monthly sales in September 2023, with 23,590 units sold, marking a 53% increase from the previous year’s 15,378 units. This figure was also 3% higher than their August 2023 sales of 22,910 units, which was their previous record.
The British automaker Morris Garage (MG) reported a 31% YoY increase in sales for September, with a total of 5,003 units sold.
