METRO RAILWAY OBSERVES MARTYRDOM DAY OF FREEDOM FIGHTER JATINDRANATH DAS

Martyrdom Day of Jatindranath Das, one of the greatest freedom fighters of Bengal was duly observed in Metro Railway today. A programme was organised at Jatin Das Park Metro Station to pay homage to him. Shri H. N. Jaiswal, Additional General Manager (AGM) garlanded the portrait of Jatindranath Das. Shri Satyaki Nath, Principal Chief Operations Manager, other senior officers, Shri Chander Dhingra and Smt. Malini Das, grand niece of Jatindranath Das also paid their floral tributes.

In his address, Shri Jaiswal paid his tribute to this great soul and said that the life and struggle of Jatindranath Das would encourage new generations to work for the country. Shri Nath focused on his life and sacrifice for ensuring independence of our country. He added that the new generation should follow the path, principles and the dedication this great soul showed. Shri Dhingra, Former Secretary of Jatindranath Das Smriti Samity threw light on the life of Jatin Das.

 A gallery was also opened for Metro users by Smt. Das and Shri Dhingra at Jatin Das Park Metro station today to mark the occasion. In this gallery, rare photographs of this great freedom fighter and paper cuttings have been kept.
