Export duty on parboiled rice

The government with immediate effect has imposed export duty of 20% on parboiled rice which was announced by the Finance Ministry.

This duty shall be effective till October 15^th, 2023 until then the government shall decide the minimum support price (MEP) for Basmati rice so as to ensure that other varieties of rice are not exported. So, the contractors who made their agreement before the notification are allowed to export their consignment at zero duty until 15^th October.
