One exporter arrested in fraudulent input tax credit case of Rs 15.26 crore

In Maharashtra, Thane’s Office of the Central GST Commissioner has arrested an exporter for claiming fraudulent Input Tax Credit (ITC) of Rs 15.26 crore.
According to an official statement released on Friday, the exporter is a director of Borivali-based firm Corvette Tradelink and had claimed ITC on the basis of incorrect invoices (invoices) of Rs 85 crore issued by bogus entities.

An inquiry was conducted against him on the basis of information received from the Delhi Customs Department.

The company was engaged in the export of footwear and fraudulently availed GST (Goods and Services Tax) ITC on the basis of bogus bills issued by entities in Delhi which are non-existent.

The director of Corvette Tradelink was arrested on Thursday, according to the statement. The local court has sent the director to judicial custody for 14 days. The identity of the person has not been revealed.
