JK Lakshmi Cement Encountering Rs 45.6 Crore Income Tax Demand

On Tuesday, JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd announced that it has been issued a demand of Rs 45.6 crore from the income tax department for the assessment year 2022-23.

The company received the assessment order dated March 18, 2025, as disclosed in a regulatory statement.

According to the order, the income tax officer has made various additions to the company’s declared income, leading to a total demand of Rs 4,559.60 lakh.

In response, the company plans to file an appeal against this order with the relevant authorities.

Following a preliminary evaluation of the issues at hand, JK Lakshmi Cement believes that the demand is unfounded, legally unsound, and will be overturned during the appeals process.

Additionally, the company does not foresee any significant impact on its financial performance, operations, or other business activities.
