But now the Supreme Court has upheld the move of the Income Tax Department to send notices.

Actually the matter was that in the budget of 2021-22 which came, it was announced that cases older than three years or more than three years would not be opened. But the Income Tax Department had sent notices to more than 1 lakh people for opening old cases between April 1 and June 30 in the same year.
