Income tax searches continued for a third day at multiple locations linked to Sundargarh-based businessman Ghanshyam Dalmia. On Saturday, I-T officials questioned Dalmia’s son Abhisek about the alleged tax evasion.
Sources said search is in progress at 10 places linked to Dalmia in Sundargarh, Rourkela, and Bargarh. The teams are also simultaneously carrying out search operations at 30 places in other states.
Although I-T officials are tightlipped about the search operation, sources said about Rs 2.5 crore has been seized so far and the money has been deposited in the SBI main branch branch in Sundargarh on Friday. Besides, 3kg gold has also been seized, sources said.TNN
