Anti Corruption Branch of CBI Lucknow caught Income Tax Officer Nitish Shukla and employee Alok Kumar posted in Fatehpur red handed while taking bribe. The team arrested both of them and took them with them to Lucknow. This action was taken on the complaint of Ranjita Dubey, a resident of Baghbadshahi Khajuha, Fatehpur. Actually, Rs 25,000 was being demanded as bribe from the complainant. There was a threat of filing a false report if it was not given.
Complainant Ranjeeta Shukla had told that a bribe of Rs 25 thousand was being demanded by Income Tax Officer Nitish Shukla and Steno Alok Kumar, while if the bribe was not paid, they were threatened with false report and imposition of fine. During the conversation, the officer reduced the bribe amount to Rs 20,000. Ranjita had complained about this to CBI. After which the anti-corruption team arrested both of them red handed.
An FIR was registered against both of them on Friday under Section 120B of the IPC and Section 7 of the Anti-Corruption Act 1988 (amended in 2018). Ranjita has said in the complaint that she runs the Customer Service Center (CSP) of SBI and fills the ITR of CSP accounts on time. Income Tax Officer Nitish Shukla sent him a notice under section 148A, to which he replied on time. Despite this, a bribe of Rs 25 thousand is being demanded by Nitish Shukla and Alok Kumar of the Income Tax Office. False reports and threats of fines are being made if bribe is not paid.
