Fire breaks out at Income Tax office in Delhi, 21 fire tenders rushed to spot
A fire erupted at the Central Revenue Building in the ITO area on Tuesday, prompting the dispatch of 21 fire tenders to the scene.
Officials from the Delhi fire services stated, “We received a call at 3:07 pm reporting a fire in the Income Tax CR building. A total of 21 fire tenders were immediately dispatched. Additionally, we have informed the local police to conduct further investigation and maintain law and order.”
Situated across from the old Police Headquarters, which is still utilized by certain units of the force, the building became the focal point of videos circulating on social media, depicting individuals seeking refuge on the window ledge while escaping the flames.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and further details are anticipated.
Just days prior, a chemical factory in Delhi’s Bawana area witnessed a blast and subsequent massive fire, resulting in at least seven injuries. Authorities reported that three of the injured individuals are in critical condition and have been transferred to Safdarjung Hospital for advanced care. The remaining injured parties, identified as Suresh, Rakesh, Pankaj Pal, and Ghan Shyam, are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
Preliminary findings from the investigation suggest that the ignition of the stored chemicals was caused by a spark resulting from a short circuit.
