Income-tax Department to Simplify Language of Tax Notices

CreditAccess Grameen has received a demand order of Rs 46 crore from the income tax department for the assessment year 2022-2023. The company plans to oppose the ruling, stating that it is based on incorrect facts and assumptions.

They intend to present the full facts of the case to the IT department and take necessary steps to safeguard their interests. Additionally, Jana Small Finance Bank’s appeal against an old income tax demand of Rs 73 crore has been disposed off, with no additional tax outgo for the bank as the disputed amount has already been remitted.
