Karnataka small vendors quitting UPI.

A vegetable vendor got a ₹29 lakh GST notice for UPI sales.

The notice states, “You have done transactions worth ₹1.63 crore in the last four years, for which, you have to pay GST of ₹29 lakh.”

The GST officials had served a notice on the vendor stating, “You have done transactions worth Rs 1.63 crore in the last four years, for which, you have to pay GST of Rs 29 lakh.” Shocked by tax demand, the vendor has stopped accepting payments through UPI.

Many vendors are shifting back to cash.

This goes against the government’s push for a cashless economy.
