Twenty three individuals earned over 500 crore in total gross income in the financial year 2022-23, according to data from the Income Tax Department. As many as 262 people earned in the range of 100 crore to 500 crore, whereas 436 individuals reported their income between ₹50 crore-100 crore. Highest tax returns were filed for 5.5 lakh-9.5 lakh income range.
