Income Tax Reassessment: New Timelines and Procedures Explained

There was a stir at the house of Shiv Prasad Nishad of Bataniya village of Lalganj police station area of Basti (Basti News) district after the income tax notice reached there. The family members were surprised to see such a huge amount. When Shivprasad, who was working as a laborer in Delhi, came to know about this, he ran away from Delhi and reached Basti.

Shiv Prasad reached the Income Tax Department and met the Income Tax Officer and said, Sir, I work as a labourer. I earn Rs 500 a day by grinding stones. I have no idea who has transacted this much money. The laborer told that someone has misused his PAN card. There is no information about the bank account from which the transaction of Rs 221 crore was made. No transaction has been done in the three accounts he owns.

Both the Income Tax and Police departments have become active regarding transactions worth billions of rupees. The Income Tax and Police Department have started investigation into transactions worth billions of rupees. ASP Deependra Choudhary said that after getting information about the matter, instructions have been given to investigate the accounts through which such huge amounts have been transacted.
