ICAI : CA candidates will get one more chance to take the exam

Hundreds of students were unable to appear for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India’s examination held on July 24, 2021, due to waterlogging and flooding due to heavy rains. In such a situation, ICAI has announced to provide them another opportunity.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced that CA candidates who could not appear for the exam on July 24 due to bad weather conditions in some cities of Maharashtra will be allowed to appear for the exam at a later date. In an official statement by ICAI, information has been received about adverse weather conditions in the cities of Ichalkaranji, Kolhapur, Ratnagiri, Sangli and Satara. This decision has been taken due to extraordinary natural calamities and circumstances beyond the control of the test takers for the entry level examination.

ICAI said that candidates who are absent in CA Foundation Examination, Paper-I, Principles and Practice of Accounting should be given opportunity. Scheduled on July 24, 2021 The said paper will be held on a fixed date, which will be intimated after the conclusion of the Foundation examination i.e. July 30, 2021. The schedule of examinations announced earlier in respect of all other cities/centres will remain unchanged.

ICAI said in its official statement that this has been done to protect the career advancement and academic interests of the examinees. These candidates are advised to appear in the remaining papers of the Foundation Examination to be held on 26, 28 and 30 July.
