Reply to a RTI Application Reveals that More Than Rs 100 Crore has been Collected by the Government as Late Fees in GST Returns from April 2019 to April 2021

A professional Mr. Pallaav Parashar filed a RTI application to seek information regarding collection of late fees in GST by the government.

According to the reply filed by the government, it reveals that government has collected Rs. 1,07,02,47,136 as late fees in GST returns from April 2019 to April 2021.

In a tweet by Mr. Pallaav Parashar, he said that “is it the way to help MSME in this country? Why Finance Ministry is not providing GST Amnesty Scheme?”

    1. Not only MSME & taxable dealer, dealer having no transactions nil tax also paid late fees which is not less than terrorism, when the act is in liquidated stage , rain of provisions , amendments the slaps to the tax payers ?
