GST App: ‘Lucky Bill Scheme’– Kerala Finance Minister KN Balagopal, during Budget, has announced the launch of a mobile application ‘Lucky Bill Scheme’ for uploading GST invoices. He has further stated about this application that, this is an important step in order to tackle GST Evasion from the root level and also attractive prizes will be distributed to the selected people who have uploaded invoices in the application.
Key Highlights:
- This will help to prevent GST Evasion
- This will encourage prompt filing of tax returns with gifts.
- GST Department will be able to examine the return filing status of taxpayers through the mobile application.
- It would help to ensure that taxpayers are abiding by the taxation rules.
- Rs 5 crore has been allocated to give away prizes for the selected taxpayers.
- The new system will encourage the public to receive bills and the merchants to give bills for uploading in the application.
