GST Provision: Traders strike across the country today in protest against GST, business will remain closed

One more link has been added to the ongoing protest against inflation in the country. 7300 Krishi Upaj Mandis across the country today in protest against 5 per cent GST on various food products including unbranded pre-packaged and pre-labeled flour, pulses, curd, jaggery from July 18, 13,000 Pulses mills, 9,600 rice mills, 8,000 flour mills and 30 lakh small mills have been announced to be closed.

In the executive meeting of the Board of Trade of Indian Industry, it has been decided that about three crore retail traders will also participate in the business shutdown. If the central government does not withdraw GST, then the movement will be intensified. The organization’s national chairman Babulal Gupta said that bringing unbranded food products under the ambit of GST is against the basic spirit of GST.
