CID Crime Exposes Rs 1,000 Crore GST Billing Racket in Navrangpura

A major GST bogus billing racket worth Rs 1,000 crore was exposed by CID crime on Thursday. Acting on information received, CID Crime teams conducted raids at an office near Navrang School in Navrangpura, at Nirav Complex, resulting in the booking of Umang Vinod Darji and his associate Ravi Prakash Soni. CID Crime stated that Darji and his accomplices counterfeited rubber stamps to produce fake bills for various commodities such as Gold, Silver, software, and cement, enabling traders to claim input tax credit. Darji received commissions from the traders in exchange for producing these falsified bills.
