What is DigiLocker
The Government of India has provided the facility of DigiLocker account under the Digital India campaign. In this, you get up to 1 GB of free cloud space in which you can keep your documents scanned and you are given access to it as and when required. When your DigiLocker account is opened, you can upload your scanned documents yourself or take help from the company in which your DigiLocker is registered.
How to Sign Up For DigiLocker
Visit the website and click on Sign-up and enter your mobile, Aadhaar number and other details. This keeps it safe. There is an option of Aadhaar OTP for access in the Digilocker app. That is, every time you login to the Digilocker app, you need a four-digit PIN number. This will create your Digilocker account.
How to Link Aadhaar with DigiLocker
Step 1: Login to your Digilocker account.
Step 2: On the dashboard, you will get the option to link to enter your Aadhaar number. After entering the Aadhaar number, select the check box.
Step 3: Click on ‘Link Now’ button.
Step 4: Enter the OTP received on your mobile.
Step 5: Click on ‘Verify’ button.
These Facilities Are Available
You have to install Digilocker app on your smartphone. You have to sync it with your Aadhaar. With its help, you can access the document anywhere. Apart from this, you can also get it by signing in on your laptop or computer. If needed, you can save the document and also take a print out of it.
