Union Labor and Employment Minister Bhupendra Yadav launched a new pension scheme on Monday. The name of this pension program is Pension Donation Scheme (Donate-a-Pension). Under this pension program, any person can contribute to the pension fund for his support staff. This scheme has been started under the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan Dhan (PM-SYM) scheme.
Labor Minister started like this
I started the ‘Donate-a-Pension’ program by donating pension to Gardener at my home. This is an initiative under the PM-SYM Pension Scheme. Under this, people can deposit the premium of the pension plan of their support staff like domestic worker, driver, helper.
Know about PM-SYM scheme
Yadav said, “Workers in the age group of 18-40 years working in the unorganized sector can register themselves in PM-SYM. They have to pay a premium of Rs 660 to Rs 2,400 annually, depending on their age. After that they will get a minimum assured pension of Rs 3,000 per month.
The Labor Minister is launching several initiatives in the ‘Iconic Week’ from 7 to 13 March. Pension donation scheme is being started on the first day of this week.
These activities will be included in this festival
During this festival, 25 crore registrations will be celebrated under e-Shram. These include the launch of e-Shram on the Umang App. Job Fair will be organized by National Career Service Center during this week. Apart from this, placement drives will be conducted.
After contributing towards pension fund in EPFO, which later renamed as EPS-95, for a continuous period of 38 years (from 1976 to 2013) – No Break – I am getting a pension of Rs.2,450/- per month. It is strange that the Government is expecting a donation from us for unorganised sector workers to get a pension of Rs.3000/-. Where is the parity?
