EPF claim can’t be rejected now, New guideline issued by EPFO offices

If you claim your EPF and it is getting rejected again and again for one reason or the other, then this news is for you. Now your EPF claim will not be rejected. Because the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization has recently issued new guidelines to all its regional offices. In which clear instructions have been given to all the responsible officers that no claim should be rejected.

No rejection can be done now

According to EPFO, the claims should be processed as soon as possible and the same claim should not be rejected on multiple grounds. Further EPFO has said that every claim should be thoroughly investigated in the first instance and the reasons for rejection should be informed to the member in the first instance. Let us tell you that complaints are often received about repeated rejection of claims on different grounds.

Rejection is now bigger task

As per the new EPFO instructions, the field offices will also be required to send a report on monthly rejection of similar PF claims to the zonal office for review. The claim should be processed within the stipulated time. The order also said that it was observed that in many cases the claims were rejected for one particular reason and when it was resubmitted after correction, it was again rejected for other or different reasons.

Online process to withdraw money from EPF account

To withdraw money from EPF online, you need to ensure that your UAN is active and it is linked with your KYC (Aadhaar, PAN and Bank Account). If you fulfill this condition, then you can follow the procedure given below to withdraw money from your EPF account.

Step 1 – Log-in to the UAN Member Portal with your UAN and Password

Step 2- Click on the ‘Online Services’ tab from the top menu bar and select ‘Claim (Form-31, 19 & 10C)’ from the drop-down menu

Step 3 – Your information will be shown on the screen. Enter the last 4 digits of your bank account and click on ‘Verify’

Step 4 – Click on ‘Yes’ to sign the Undertaking Certificate and proceed

Step 5 – Now click on ‘Proceed for Online Claim’ option

Step 6 – Select ‘PF Advance (Form 31)’ to withdraw your funds online

Step 7 – A new section of the form will open, in which you have to select the ‘Purpose for which advance is required’, the required amount and the employee’s address

It is worth noting that all the purposes for which the employee cannot withdraw money will be mentioned in red colour.

Step 8 – Tick on verification and submit your application

Step 9 – Depending on the purpose for which you have filled the form, you may need to submit the scanned documents

Step 10 – Your company has to accept your withdrawal request after which money will be withdrawn from your EPF account and credited to the bank account details you have entered while filling the withdrawal form.

An SMS will come on your mobile number registered with EPFO. Once the claim is processed, the amount will be transferred to your bank account. Though no formal time limit has been provided by EPFO, the money is usually credited within 1-2 days.
