CBI Arrests FCI Officials in Major Bribery Investigation

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has successfully apprehended two officials from the Food Corporation of India (FCI) Depot in Chandausi—a Manager and an Assistant Grade-II (Depot In-charge)—for their involvement in a bribery case.

This arrest stems from a formal complaint lodged on February 11, 2026, against the Assistant Grade-II/Depot In-charge at the FCI Depot. The complainant, who operates a private firm, initially visited the FCI Babrala Depot to deposit 16 stacks of rice and had future plans to deposit an additional eight stacks. During this transaction, the Assistant Grade-II (Depot In-charge) illicitly demanded a bribe of Rs. 50,000 to approve the deposit of the stacks, along with an additional Rs. 15,000 for each of the remaining eight stacks.

In a strategic move, the CBI set up a trap to apprehend the accused in the act. During the operation, it was uncovered that the Depot In-charge had conspired with the Manager of the FCI Depot to demand the aforementioned bribe. On February 11, 2026, both officials were caught red-handed while accepting an initial installment of Rs. 30,000 in illegal gratification from the complainant.

The investigation into this bribery case is ongoing, and further developments are expected as authorities delve deeper into the operations at the FCI Depot in Chandausi. Stay tuned for updates on this significant case involving corruption in government institutions.
