RBI 2000 Note Supply Stopped, 2 crores of fake notes caught

According to report of the RBI for the year 2020-21

During the last full financial year i.e. April 2020 to March 2021, not a single note of 2000 rupees has been supplied by the government. This information is given in the report of Reserve Bank of India for the financial year 2020-21. The government has stopped the supply of 2000 rupee notes for almost two years. Even in the financial year 2019-20, the 2000 rupee note was not supplied.

According to the Reserve Bank report, during the financial year 2020-21, the government has supplied the highest 500 rupee notes and currently 500 rupee notes are the highest in circulation. 1156.72 crore notes of 500 rupees have been supplied in 2020-21. Apart from this, 151.06 crores for 200 rupees, 372.70 crores rupees 100 rupees, 138.87 crores rupees 50 rupees, 385.20 crores rupees 20 rupees and 28.46 crores rupees 10 rupees have been supplied in the market.
