The second stretch of the first phase of Jaipur Metro was today dedicated to the people of Rajasthan by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot through video conference. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the commencement of the Metro service in the walled city area of Jaipur will reduce the traffic congestion and increase tourism. Mr. Gehlot said that with the support of the Central Government his government will try to start the work of the second phase in the city. His government will also try to provide metro service in Jodhpur, which is the second biggest city of the state. Participating in the programme through video conference, Secretary of the of Urban Affairs, Durga Shankar Mishra said that with the commencement of services of Phase-1(B) in Jaipur Metro, Metro service
is being operated on 700-kilometre long route across the country while work on the 900- kilometre route is underway.
