Tax reforms push more taxpayers to update returns
The NUDGE campaign has coincided with a notable rise in updated income tax returns, tallying 1.32 crore filings and an extra ₹16,083 crore in tax as reported by a member of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). The department attributes the figures to higher voluntary compliance and improved processing efficiency.
