TAX NOTICES TO OVER 1,000 PROPERTY TAX DEFAULTERS_ SHIMLA MC

The Shimla Municipal Corporation (MC) has issued final notices to over 1,000 property tax defaulters in the city, urging them to pay the pending amount within 15 days. The MC has warned of disconnecting water and electricity supply to defaulters who fail to comply. This move comes as the MC faces a financial crunch, with a significant portion of its revenue coming from property tax. The corporation is also facing pressure to provide essential services to the city’s residents.

The MC has identified several government department buildings, including those belonging to the Central Public Works Department and the Railway Department, as major defaulters. The corporation has urged these departments to clear their outstanding dues.

The MC has also launched a crackdown on those who have not paid garbage collection bills, issuing notices to over 400 households. The corporation has warned of taking legal action against defaulters.

The MC’s efforts to collect outstanding dues are expected to help improve its financial situation and enable it to provide better services to the city’s residents.
