Metro Railway has been observing ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ from 16th to 30th September, 2022. During the Pakhwada, intensive cleaning and sanitization drives at stations, trains, colonies, hospitals and other railway establishments are being carried out with special focus on plastic waste management.

As a part of this Pakhwada, a special cleanliness drive was conducted today i.e. on 19.09.2022 at Netaji Bhavan Metro Station. During this drive, Shri H.N.Jaiswal, Additional General Manager and Principal Chief Engineer, other senior officers, staff and volunteers of Gurudwara Sant Kutiya offered Shramdaan. Additional General Manager also dedicated a bottle crusher machine to the service of the Metro users in order to make the Metro premises free from plastic wastes in presence of Dr.N.Saha Sharmaa, Head- Corporate Social Responsibility Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation (CESC) Limited. This bottle crusher machine has been provided by CESC Ltd. In this programme, Metro officers and staff vowed to make the Metro premises clean and sought co-operation from Metro users to accomplish this objective. Special cleanliness drive was also undertaken at Noapara Car Depot Complex today.

Banners and posters are on display at all Metro stations and announcements are being made to make Metro commuters aware about the importance of cleanliness.
